With the support of local organizations, these skilled artisans can pursue their traditional crafts, and have a sustainable source of livelihood.

Kong, a young Cambodian woman who is a land mine survivor, designs and produces purses and accessories using silk or recycled rice bag materials. She gives back to her community by training other men and women with disabilities to cut, sew and produce her designs.

Ostrich Eggshell and Tamboti Wood Bracelets

The Ju/’hoansi San (Kalahari Bushmen) of Tsumkwe, Namibia use ostrich eggshell beads and tamboti, a fragrant wood, to create stunning bracelets for both men and women. Eggshell beads are roasted to create accents of brown and black.
